The first weekend in May marked the official store opening weekend for Speckled Hen Store in Kersbrook, and what an unforgettable opening weekend it was! From the moment we opened our doors, the support from our local community, family, and friends was overwhelming and heartwarming. The turnout exceeded our expectations, with everyone eager to explore our curated selection of unique and handcrafted pieces. The timing couldn't have been more perfect, with almost all visitors on the hunt for the most special Mother's Day gifts, and we were thrilled to help them find something special.

One of the highlights of our opening weekend was witnessing the excitement over our top-selling products. Handmade cards topped the list, and we are incredibly grateful for how well they were received. These cards, crafted with love and care by mother-daughter duo, Anne-Marie & Caitlin, add a personal touch to any gift, and it was wonderful to see so many of you appreciating this small yet meaningful detail. Hair accessories came in second, with the Checkered Flower Claw Clip and the Lune Wavy Matte Claw Clip offering stylish and affordable gift options.

Decorative items like the Watering Jugs and the Pot Sitters brought a touch of whimsy and charm to the store and people loved the vintage vibe of these small yet unique pieces. Felt Fresheners from Home Dweller, with their delightful scent and mood-boosting benefits, were another popular choice, adding a fresh and natural fragrance to homes, wardrobes, cars and more. Maine Beach K.I. Ligurian Honey Hand Crème and Lip Buzz products, along with their other siblings in Riverland Orange, Kakadu Plum, and Flannel Flower scents were standout Mother's Day gifts with a cult following. The Jones & Co Mini Dishes, designed for affirmations were such a sweet little gift on their own or in amongst an assortment of goodies. The beautifully crafted scarves from Taylor Hill Scarves & Co and Lillyco, were flying out the door, we couldn’t even tell you which were the most popular!

Silicone Baby Teethers joined the list with so many people commenting kind words on our baby and kids section, while the Inspiration Bracelets from Love Lunamei were so well received we had to restock during our opening weekend!
